I've been hooked on all things 'travel' since the age of 14, when I would sneakily rip pages out of ageing National Geographics in the school library to add to my travel scrapbook.
Happily, a few years on (ahem), I’m just as passionate about the industry and have been working as a full-time freelance travel journalist since 2011, after spending six years as Commissioning Editor at respected guidebook publisher Bradt Travel Guides.
I now write for a diverse range of publications that commission me to produce lively, accurate copy perfectly tailored to their readership and illustrated with high-quality photographs. I have a particular fondness for off-the-beaten-track destinations and responsible-, adventure-based tours, but I’m happy to turn my hand to anything and will work hard to find you fresh, original angles.

Broadcasting and events
I'm an experienced travel-writing panellist for consumer travel shows and workshops. I also moonlight as a broadcaster and have filmed for national Flemish TV network VRT, as well as been interviewed, as a Belgium expert, by Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio.
When not penning travel articles, I also act as a judge for the Travel Photographer of the Year competition and as a trustee of Serian UK, a registered charity that supports Noonkodin Secondary School in Monduli Ju – a remote Maasai village in northern Tanzania. The school provides shelter and education for FGM (female genital mutilation) runaways, in addition to being the only school that teaches local cultural heritage (medicinal plant knowledge, songs, stories, etc) alongside conventional subjects like English and Maths.
